Bio
Gora Mboup is a Dutch-Senegalese film and commercial director known for his bold, cinematic visual language and instinct for world-building. He began his career assisting Golden Calf-nominated production designer Robert van der Hoop, where he developed a meticulous eye for detail, atmosphere and visual coherence. At 21, he was accepted into the Netherlands Film Academy as one of five fiction directors in his year, refining his craft in visual storytelling and cinematic authorship. His debut short film Beneath the Baobab Tree premiered at the Netherlands Film Festival and Imagine Film Festival, and was later selected for international festivals including the Pan African Film Festival in Los Angeles; establishing the bold, larger-than-life aesthetic that has since become his signature. Today, Gora brings that same cinematic sensibility to fashion and luxury brands, creating visually striking, story-driven campaigns that balance emotion, identity and cultural resonance. He has directed campaigns and music projects for international brands and artists including Mau P., AICHE and MICHA.
